It has been a whirlwind of a year! From artists in residence and village fetes, to a solar eclipse, surfing perfect waves and cycling to the ends of the earth… Brittany holds a very special charm and we are proud to be able to welcome visitors here from both near and far. We have had so many lovely guests coming to stay at our boutique collection of luxury holiday homes here in Brittany, those who have told us how they have loved their time in France, and many of which have returned again and again.
Two Luxury Holiday Homes in Brittany’s Cap Sizun
This year has been busier than ever; we lavished love upon Ty Traez (the ‘Grande Dame’ of our luxury holiday homes) to make it even more comfortable and welcoming. This gorgeously unique self-catering home boasts a beautifully
serene ambiance and is not far from Baie De Trepasses on the Cap Sizun (a beach which regularly features in run downs of the world’s best beaches and within an area of outstanding natural beauty). The attic conversion we carried out at Ty Traez last year to accommodate up to six people (or ten people in six bedrooms) was a huge success and we had some families reuniting from all four corners of the globe. The house was further enhanced with an interiors update including the addition of new fine linens and a new coat of paint throughout. We work hard to ensure that each of our luxury holiday homes in Brittany are beautifully presented with comfortable luxurious new interiors, and this winter we are busy with new additions and renovations ready for the coming season.
Ty Bili (which sits alongside Ty Traez in the coastal village of Primelin) has been as popular as ever this year with a busy calendar and regular wonderful feedback from guests. This testimonial in particular sums up its special charm; “We have been holidaying in France, particularly Brittany, for 30 years. Ty Bili is the best house we’ve stayed in. Great attention to detail throughout and such a beautiful quiet garden. Having the coastal path right on the doorstep has been a bonus.”
Lostmarc’h – Presqu’ile de Crozon
Our aim is that each of our four holiday homes in Brittany feels luxuriously cosy, unpretentious and full of heart and soul. Each has its own special character, and Lostmarc’h is no different. This unique and cosy stone cottage is just minutes’ walk from one of the best beaches in Brittany and has appeared in the Observer and The Times as one of the best stylish seaside villas in Europe. Kistinic Gatehouse Quimper
The Gatehouse to Kistinic chateau and parc has had many lovely return guests coming to stay, as well as some new guests visiting Brittany for the first time. Guests tell us that they love the proximity to Quimper whilst being able to stay in such peaceful surroundings with the chance to roam the private parc.
Having use of the swimming pool in summer and a cosy woodburner for winter months means this luxury holiday home has all-season appeal. On that note, a recent guest said “The nicest gite we have ever stayed in – and we have stayed in a lot – we can thoroughly recommend an autumn stay as the grounds are just beautiful with all the leaves on the turn.”
Other highlights of 2015 included a honeymoon and a wedding anniversary (we love a bit of romance!), and the fact that both July and August are almost fully booked already for next year. A personal highlight for me this year was meeting one of our guests from Miami who had developed a language learning programme called Fluenz. He gave me the app as a gift to say thank you for his holiday in Brittany, and believe it or not I am now well on my way to learning Spanish.
