The festival de Cornuaille in Quimper is one of the biggest and most important Breton festivals of the year with lots of music, dancing and local colour. The festival usually takes place in early July and the streets of Quimper buzz with activity from morning till late at night. There are stalls along the quays of the river Odet selling local crafts and products and things to eat. You can take a lesson in Breton dancing, and join in the Fest Noz in the place de St Corentin by the cathedral. Take in the proud atmosphere as you watch the big parade of Bretons in beautiful embroidered costumes as they dance down the cobbled medieval streets, and listen to the celtic flavoured music with a whole host of concerts taking place throughout the town.
