Look here to find our favourite restaurants and gourmet food shops in Brittany at the moment.
L’auberge, 24 rue Guezno, Audierne. Tel. 0298 70 59 58 This restaurant is one of the best kept secrets in Finistere. We had the most delicious meal here, I can’t rave about this place enough! Just down the road from Ty Traez and Ty Bili, if you are coming to the Cap Sizun, or anywhere else in France for that matter, make sure you book. http://www.francetoday.com/articles/2011/07/05/l_auberge.html
Another great find is the restaurant L’Insolite in Douarnenez. From the outside the ‘Hotel de France’ on the main street looks like the sort of outdated place from a bygone era, but step inside and be pleasantly surprised. The decor is a mix of modern bright colours mixed with beautiful old breton panels and modern pieces of art. The crisp white table cloths and friendly attentive service make it feel special, and the food is both tasty, creative and beautifully presented. The lunchtime menu is especially good value. Thank you to our guests who introduced us, and what a great find. www.lafrance-dz.com 4 rue jean jaures Douarnenez. Tel. 0298920002

Cantine de Mer Tara Restaurant. Lesconil. www.cantinedemer.com – Seafood doesn’t get much fresher than this, and with it’s quayside location an authentic atmosphere to boot!
Boulangerie Ty Forn – Audierne. Walking into this little bakery in Audierne will make you think you have just landed in planet gourmet. This is top level baking, and would put Fortnum and Mason, or Harvey Nichols to shame!
